Green product certification

Carrying out green product certification is an important measure to practice the spirit of documents such as the "Overall Plan for Ecological Civilization System Reform" issued by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the State Council, the "Opinions of the General Office of the State Council on Establishing a Unified Green Product Standard, Certification, and Labeling System" (issued by the General Office [2016] No. 86), and the "Carbon Peaking and Carbon Neutrality Goals" . It is an effective way to help the country achieve the goal of establishing a unified green product system, integrating the eight labels of environmental protection, energy conservation, water conservation, recycling, low-carbon, regeneration, organic, and hazardous substance restriction into China's unified green product certification label - the" Clover "label, and reducing the institutional transaction costs of enterprises. At the same time, it is also an important measure to promote enterprise green transformation and upgrading.

In April 2018, the State Administration for Market Regulation released the “Directory of green product assessment standards and certification Directory (the first batch)” with the first batch of the certification Directory including 12 types of products. Subsequently, the second and third batches of green product assessment standard directories and certification catalogue were released in December 2020 and December 2021, respectively. At present, there are a total of 16 categories of products in the three batches of certification catalogs that have been released. They are specifically as follows:

The specific scope of certification approved is as follows:

• Wood-based panels and wooden flooring 

• Coating material

• Paper and paper products

• Refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines
  

In recent years, CEPREI Certification Body has actively carried out green product certification and evaluation. In terms of green product certification, we actively responded to the requirements of the national regulatory authorities and assisted more than 100 enterprises in carrying out voluntary certification for the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products (the China RoHS voluntary product certification), limiting the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products from the source, reducing environmental pollution caused by product wastes, increasing the supply of green products, and promoting green consumption; In terms of green product evaluation, relying on the technical expertise and resources of the team, we have carried out green product evaluation for many well-known enterprises in recent years.

CEPREI Certification Body has been engaged in the compulsory safety certification of China electronic and electrical products (CCEE) since 1987, issuing more than 10000 certificates. Since 2015, CEPREI Certification Body has been designated by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration as a certification body for four categories of compulsory products: household and similar use equipment (C07), audio and video equipment (C08), information technology equipment (C09), and telecommunications terminal equipment (C16). In April 2019, it was approved to be an energy-saving product certification body that can get involved in government procurement. In August 2019, it was approved to become a voluntary product certification body for China RoHS. In August 2021, it was approved to become a green product certification body. In October 2021, it was approved to become a green product certification body for express packaging. The experience in green product evaluation and certification accumulated in the early stage has laid a solid foundation for the implementation of green product certification.
