CHINA RoHS Certification

On January 6, 2016, eight authorities including the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, the Ministry of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Environmental Protection, the Ministry of Commerce, the General Administration of Customs, and the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine jointly issued the "Management Measures for Restricting the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products" (Order No. 32, hereinafter referred to as the "Measures"). The Measures stipulate that electrical and electronic products included in the compliance management catalog shall comply with the national or industry standards for restricting the Use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products and be managed in accordance with the conformity assessment system for the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products.

On May 16, 2019, the State Administration for Market Regulation and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology issued the "Implementation Arrangements for the Conformity Assessment System for Restricting the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products" (hereinafter referred to as the "Implementation Arrangements"), which stipulates that products listed in the "Compliance Management Directory for Restricting the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (First Batch)" that are manufactured or imported after November 1, 2019, shall meet the requirements of the "Implementation Arrangements" for conformity assessment. 

The voluntary certification for the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products (hereinafter referred to as the national voluntary certification) promoted by the state refers to the voluntary application by enterprises and the certification by third-party certification bodies that electrical and electronic products comply with relevant standards and technical specifications for the restriction of hazardous 

On March 12, 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the "Compliance Management Directory for Restricting the Use of Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Products (First Batch)", which includes twelve major categories of products: refrigerators, air conditioners, washing machines, electric water heaters, printers, copiers, fax machines, televisions, monitors, microcomputers, mobile communication handheld devices, and standalone telephones.

In recent years, CEPREI Certification Body has actively carried out green product certification and evaluation. In terms of green product certification, we actively responded to the requirements of the national regulatory authorities and assisted more than 100 enterprises in carrying out voluntary certification for the restriction of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products (the China RoHS voluntary product certification), limiting the use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic products from the source, reducing environmental pollution caused by product wastes, increasing the supply of green products, and promoting green consumption; In terms of green product evaluation, relying on the technical expertise and resources of the team, we have carried out green product evaluation for many well-known enterprises in recent years.

CEPREI Certification Body has been engaged in the compulsory safety certification of China electronic and electrical products (CCEE) since 1987, issuing more than 10000 certificates. Since 2015, CEPREI Certification Body has been designated by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration as a certification body for four categories of compulsory products: household and similar use equipment (C07), audio and video equipment (C08), information technology equipment (C09), and telecommunications terminal equipment (C16). In April 2019, it was approved to be an energy-saving product certification body that can get involved in government procurement. In August 2019, it was approved to become a voluntary product certification body for China RoHS. In August 2021, it was approved to become a green product certification body. In October 2021, it was approved to become a green product certification body for express packaging. The experience in green product evaluation and certification accumulated in the early stage has laid a solid foundation for the implementation of green product certification.
